12/21/2017 | SEMESTER XP

What do you feel was the most difficult part of your experience in this class this semester?  What are three of the biggest challenges you had this semester? I feel that the most difficult part of my experience this semester was working on assignments and projects. The reason I'm saying that is because the assignments and projects in this class have numerous requirements, and that could limit our creativity. I understand that some people will just do what is required, but there are passionate people who're limited to the requirements of the school assignments and projects.

12/20/2017 | PRACTICAL REFLECTION

Since you have all taken a few practical tests, reflect on what you've learned so far.  Please write a detailed paragraph on why the practical tests are necessary in this class and you're future career.  Make sure to cover at least three different reasons in detail. The practicals that I have taken so far are for the cameras, for the EX1 and the EX3. I didn't learn too much from the practicals themselves, but from the keynote that has the visuals and labels for the two cameras. During the practicals, I just had to set up the camera and tripods, and label there functions and 'features'. But before the practicals is where I had to learn everything. Now that I've studied the labels and took the practicals, I now know where to find the functions on the cameras, which is very helpful, because I can't use a camera continuously without knowing how to use it. Between the EX-3 and the EX-1, I prefer using the EX-1 just because of it's smaller size, the comfortab...

12/19/2017 | EDUCATING CLIENTS ON THE PRODUCTION PROCESS

What are three key pieces of advice that this article gives on educating potential clients on creating videos for them? One key advice is to be open with your clients, such as how video production works and about the cost of all of it. Another is to invite your clients to the shoot, being courtesy and team building. Lastly, in my opinion, the best advice given in this article, is to under-promise and over-deliver. Give the clients more than what hey paid for. Don't deliver something that you can't stand by. Match the client's vision with what you can deliver for the budget they have in mind.

12/13/2017 | 6 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU SHOOT

What are three key things you learned in this video?  Why are they so important? Three key things that should be considered when shooting with a cast and crew, is that you must have food and drinks for the cast and crew, because obviously, they must eat. A second things is that people must have access to restrooms, because they won't be able to focus on shooting if they have to hold it in. A third thing that should be considered is to have available parking, or else, looking for parking will become an issue and take up your shooting time. Also, there should be a call time and wrap time, to respect people's time and awareness. People need to be there early to set up, as well as late to pack up.

12/12/2017 | THE IMPORTANCE OF EDITING

What does this video say about how people learn?  How can you use his guidelines in the creation of your own future videos? There are three ways to how people learn. In order for people to learn from your videos, you either have to Say it with dialogue, Spell it with texts to understand its importance, and Show it, because if it's important enough to say it, it's important enough to show it. For future videos, these guidelines should always be used, to keep your audience engaged, and also so they won't get lost if distracted. These are great ways for the audience to know what's going on at all times during the videos.

12/11/2017 | WRITING AN EFFECTIVE VIDEO SCRIPT

What are the four parts of an effective video script?  What do each of these parts do for your final video? The four parts are the hook, intro, the body of the video, and the call to actions. The hook determines whether or not your viewers will keep watching. With the intro, you're introducing yourself and adding other information that your viewers might be interested in. The body of the video is what your viewers are there to see, the reason they clicked on your video. The skeleton of your video. The call to action is when you tell your viewers what you wan them to do, such as subscribe and to check out other things that they might be interested in.

12/08/2017 | TITLE SAFE

Why is understanding title safe areas so important even during the era of modern televisions? Understanding title safes is important because videos are always cropped to format your screen. Because of this, you always must put the safe margins on your screen while editing to avoid having your titles cut off, otherwise your video will look very unprofessional, which will make you look bad as a video producer/filmmaker.

12/07/2017 | STYLES OF VIDEO SCRIPTS

Summarize the script abbreviations for video and audio that you've learned in this video.  Why is it important to know these abbreviations when writing your script? Every script should have a header on every page for organization. A description for a scene is called a slug. The action paragraph is basically used to describe the action that occurs in the video. The Parenthetical is how you think the actor/actress should deliver their line. Basic shot types abbreviations that you'll be using is LS for Long shot, S for Medium Shot, and CU for Close Up. Camera moves include Pan Tilt, Zoom, Boom and Dolly. Video sources include B-roll which are original videos, archive video, graphics, animation and talent. 12/06/2017 | WRITING VIDEO SCRIPTS

In your own words describe what the purpose of a video script is.  How should a proper video script be laid out?  What are two key important factors to keep in mind when creating a video script? A video script is a script which lays out all of the details for the video, and all the details for the audio. Some factors that you should keep in mind is to capitalize everything that isn't spoken in the video, also, each box in the columns should contain one scene.

12/05/2017 | 2-COLUMN SCRIPT FORMATTING

What are 3 key things that this article says are important about formatting an AV script? Some things that are important for formatting an AV script are column labels, such as VIDEO and AUDIO, a dividing line, which basically divides the Video and Audio columns, Descriptions, such as for shots, and spacing, either single of double spaced.

12/04/2017 | THE PRODUCTION PROCESS WRAPUP

Now that you've completed (or almost completed) "The Production Process" unit, what are three things that you learned?  Please explain each in detail. Why are these three things that you think are the most important to making a film? There wasn't a lot that I learned in this unit, because I've known about most of the things we went over. The things that I did learn were the smaller jobs in the different departments, and a few names of some of the jobs, such as the name gaffer, boy, and grip. One job that I wasn't aware of was the Line Producer, who reports the the Producer, is reported by Head of Departments, and oversees the budget. The three things that I find the most important to making a film are the roles of the Director, who drives the vision of the film. The 1st Assistant Director, who controls everything on set, and the Editor, who puts the film together with the help of the Director.

12/01/2017 | STREAMING VS. TRADITIONAL TV

How is Netflix changing the television landscape?  How will this trend continue into the future? Netflix is changing the television landscape with their streaming platform. You can't just watch anything you want, whenever you want, on Television, because it's scheduled programming. Netflix has always had the advantage of streaming access to a lot of shows to watch whenever you want. And for the past few years, Netflix has been releasing their own 'Netflix Original' shows, some of which have become massive successes, such as Orange is the New Black, Black Mirror, and Stranger Things. In conclusion, Netflix gives us access to stream many of our favorite TV shows whenever we want, and they have their own amazing shows that we can watch whenever we want. This is why it's killing traditional scheduled television.
