Why are there so many different jobs on a movie crew?  What is one job that you learned about in this video that you'd never heard of.  Why might it seem interesting?

There are so many different jobs on a movie crew because a film requires numerous equipment setup, which requires people, because equipment isn't going to set itself up. One of the jobs that I've never heard of is a gaffer. I guess it seems interesting because they work with lighting.

The director's role is so important because they're creatively responsible for bringing the film to life. They have a vision, and they have to make that a reality. They are are also responsible for casting, shots, compositions, and editing. Directors need to have a deep passion for filmmaking, and be committed.
