The Production Sound Mixer is the person responsible for making sure that the dialogue recorded for the film is clear. They also work with the Boom Operator. The responsibilities for the Production Sound Mixer on a film include having knowledge of electronics and all sound recording equipment. They have to understand microphones, lighting techniques and camera lens angles. They must have an interest in acoustics and audio technology. They meet with the director and producer two weeks before filming to discuss the placement of microphones on or around actors.
