What is a shot list?  Why is it so important?

A shot list is basically a "groccery list" of framing, angles, and movement for each shot in a film. This is very important to do and have before you ever step foot on a film set, because it prepares you for you vision of the film, people will understand what you want specifically for each shot, and will save you a lot of time on set.

The director's role is so important because they're creatively responsible for bringing the film to life. They have a vision, and they have to make that a reality. They are are also responsible for casting, shots, compositions, and editing. Directors need to have a deep passion for filmmaking, and be committed.
