In your own words, explain the differences between an outline, synopsis and a treatment.

An outline is where you write down your ideas, your key plot points for your story. A synopsis is a one page description of the overall story. A treatment is a short version of your script. The treatment can range from one to three pages.

Why is the directors role so important in a film?  What are some of their responsibilities on a film? The director's role is so important because they're creatively responsible for bringing the film to life. They have a vision, and they have to make that a reality. They are are also responsible for casting, shots, compositions, and editing. Directors need to have a deep passion for filmmaking, and be committed.
