The film "Nanook of the North," became mostly controversial because of the real actions taken place by the cast and crew. There were two parts in the film where the cast killed a walrus with a harpoon on camera and drag the body along with them. There was another scene in the film where they kill a seal, who was the substitute of a bear for an attack. The film is not authentic due to the staged scenes such as the attacks. Another reason that the film is famous for is the authentic survival skill-set showcased by Nanook.
