DOCUMENTARY MISTAKES | 5/16/18

In your own words, which of these three are the most important?  Why?  If there were one more mistake that could be added to this list, what do you think it would be?

There are many mistakes that one can make in their documentary. Not asking a question or choosing a theme is one of them. Choosing a worthy subject is very important, because not everyone fits into any role, even for a documentary. Using poor techniques to create events is also bad, and it shouldn't be winged either and just settle for whatever the results are. Using bad music is a horrible mistake to make. Music makes up about 50% of the entertainment and really brings the story to life. Choosing the wrong type of music will just feel very unatural and is poorly executed. The worst thing that one can possibly do for a documentary is film without a vision. If you don't have an idea of how you want the documentary to be, and decide to just record whatever you can get is not a good idea.
