THE HOT SEAT TECHNIQUE | 4/26/18

What is the hot seat technique?  How can you apply this to the next script that you write to create interesting characters?

Great written characters must be 3-dimensional and truly believable. The Hot Seat Technique is used by theatre directors. He/she places a chair in the center of the stage. One by one, every actors sits in the chair, becoming the character, answering questions from other cast members about that character. Many details about those answered questions will never be mentioned in the story, but it'll change the way the character behaves and interacts.
